2 of the sleeves in my H (later engine) have come loose - does anyone know if oversize liners are available? I've also thought about boring the block to accept super H liners. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thirty years ago my H started making a tapping sound at idle. I removed the head and found one of the sleeves moving up and down with the piston. I bought a new head gasket (which covered the top of the sleeve - enough to hold it down). No more problems all these years.

Are they causing a problem?

The head will hold them in.

yes - part of one had broken and was in the oil pan, the other can out with the piston. Some one suggested spraying the liners with aluminum paint before installing but that just doesn't seem right

When they come out with the pistons I put them back in. If the broken part is not where the piston runs on it I would not worry about it either, but then I work my tractors, they are not for show. For a show tractor you might want it to be just right inside.

I've never painted one, I'm afraid it would make it hard to get out later.
