I would like more power in my 240. I want to do a valve job anyway. What should I do while I'm in there? Will porting the head and matching it to the manifold help much? What about milling some off the head? If so, how much? Any other tips? Can bigger pistons be installed?

Replace it. in reply to Red Rookie, 01-23-2005 18:32:33
Unless you are stuck on original parts, you might be able to put in a 153 cid combine engine.

A carb and governor from a 504 would be a good start. Electronic ignition will be good for 1 or 2 extra horsepower. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can drop in C-135 sleeves and pistons, just make sure the outside diameter of the C-135 sleeves are the same as yours.
