I have an H that I am working on to get it started and restored. I was working on the fuel line the other night and noticed oil on the manifold I got to looking further and noticed it was coming from the gasket which needs to be replaced. My question is there was also oil in the manifold is this normal? I didn't think that oil was suposed to be this high in the engine. Also has anyone ever heard of a vapor or air lock in the gas tank that prevents gas from gettin into the carb from the tank?

Oil on the manifold comes from the rocker arm & valve train supply leaking through the gasket you mentioned. Without oil in the upper reaches of the engine, the poor tractor wouldn"t be in operation very long.
Your "lack of gasoline" problem is not vapor lock since your H has a gravity fed carburetor. I would surmise that there is material in the fuel tank (straw, etc.)that is blocking the sediment bowl supply. Take a good flashlight (careful of sparks) and look into the tank.

And blow backwards into the tank from the carburetor end of the line.

If it won't reverse, check the sediment bowl. I've had the gasket come off the needle valve and clog the opening.

Ok. I checked the sediment bowl, cleaned it, blew through the line, replaced the fuel filter and put it all back together and I still can't get the gas to flow. I looked inside but I don't see anything blocking it either. I loosened the sediment bowl assembly and gas flowed free. Any other advice. Thanks Jared
