Does anyone know how hard it is to put a two point fast hitch on a farmall super C before they started putting them on in 1953, and does anyone want 5to sell one.

Got a 2pt on my Farmall 200. Kind of a pain to use. Not many 2pt impliments available. 2pt to 3pt conversions are just OK. Suggest you look into aftermarket 3pt hitch, and skip the 2pt idea. Worksaver, and Gratiot are a good place to start.

Both C's and Super C's were drilled for fast hitch, so installation should not be hard. If your tractor does not have the hydraulic valve for the hitch or trailing implements, you need one of those. Easier to buy a valve and adapter such as those sold by Saginaw for their 3-points. I really don't know of any sources. You might try Steel Wheel Ranch -- Mike has fast hitch for sale, but I don't know about C's -- 785-548-7437.

Be realistic. Fast Hitch on the Super C was a rare option. Nobody's going to sell you theirs, let alone at a reasonable price.

Novel--

I don't think that a Fast Hitch was "rare" on Super C's, 200's or 230's. I "rarely" see any of these models without a Fast Hitch.

Novel Idea Guy: I don't know as I would go quite that far. C, SC, 200 and 230 were big sellers in my home town. I can't remember when I last saw a SC, 200 or 230 without fast hitch. I was at the fall fair when SC came with that hitch, dealer had about 6 fast hitch implements at fair with tractor. I would almost bet money he never sold another tractor that size with standard drawbar. I've never seen anything catch fire like that SC fast hitch. The big tractor fast hitches didn't.

Hugh, where are you from and what locality are all of those Super C's w/FH's in? I'm looking for one for a restoration project. I'm in central Missouri and all I have found around here have been beat to death. I don't want to have to buy 4 or 5 to make a good one. Thanks if you can share. Hal

Hal: I was originally from east coast of Canada in Nova Scotia. I wont say you will find a lot of these left, as they beat the crap out of them also. Dairy farmers using them for overload work. Export buyers have also been in there and cleaned up a lot of these 25 years ago. The ones that remain are in the hands of part timers, householders, families of farmers that bought them new, etc.

I live in Ontario now, I can remember 20 years ago the Ontario Farm papers would have half dozen of these per week for sale. Now you rarely ever see one for sale. I don't see a lot of them at shows.
Again I expect a lot of them were exported. They are also quite popular as a house holder tractor.
But then, all small tractors are like that.

I expect like most small tractors 50 years old the good ones are in the hands of guys using them for yard work. Those are only going to move with estates and if the fanily realize how much dad got done for so little money, they will not even be sold then. I know guys that swear at themselves, for allowing one of these to escape out of family 20 to 25 years ago.

No problem to install, just make sure you get all of it. Best to have a parts book when your out buying. Some people tend to keep pieces they have found other uses for. With the Super C close attention to hydraulic valve and check valve are important.

I have an incomplete fast hitch for a 130, I bought 10 years ago. I knew it wasn't all there, but price was right. Maybe not as I've never been able to find the rest. Problem you have looking for parts for these, no one want to split one up.
