Farmall C with the wide front are they kind of hard to come by ?? Complete tractor that will run, what's it worth ?? Tires decent, sheet metal fair, no cracks on block.

They aren't rare, just uncommon. I've got a 240 Row-Crop with a wide front from a Super C under it. Definetly does not turn on a dime, and takes some strength. For the jobs a these tractors were meant for- mowing, raking, a narrow front is much more desirable. It is pretty rare to find one of these wide fronts that dosen't have any cracks or welds. Certain collectors, the "show tractor" guys, would pay $800 for the front end in perfect shape. After using it for mowing, I would never want another.

There are two different types of wide front end for the C. The old style which had a ball and socket type tie rod ends and the new style that has the automotive type tie rod ends.

As some one said the replacement center steering arms are impossable to find for both types. I gave up looking and had one built from scratch.

I don't see an advantage to a WF on a Super C. A Super C with NF is the handiest and most maneuverable tractor you'll ever meet. It can just about turn around on itself.

A quick story: An acquaintance who is green and yellow to the death used my Super C for awhile a couple of years ago. He had never had any experience with one before. After using it for a couple of days, he stopped by and wanted to trade me a JD 50 for it. I told him "no dice." I already had a JD B (a great tractor-no intent to start battles here) but my Super C is our main "go-to" machine for all sorts of odd jobs that require some finesse. For example, with a boom pole and chain, the "Touch Control" hydraulics make removing a radiator from a JD A or JD 70 a piece of cake.

For breaking down a bead on a tire, just use a block of wood under the drawbar and on the bead and you can lower the drawbar and break that bead so easily.

I love my NF Super C--and for years, I used it for bush hogging on my hills.

My $.02.

I don't think you will find wide front will add to value of C and SC like it does to the larger Farmalls. With narrow front C and SC will manuver with a SA, put a wide front on them and all of a sudden you have a tractor that needs space. One could say about as much space as H with wide front.

I remember once in 1958 a dealer having 4 new 230's with wide front. This was dairy country and he had to put narrow fronts on to sell them. These guys wanted them for raking hay.

Uncommon maybe, but not rare. There is one accross the road from me. The wide front should make the tractor worth some more, but not a lot. On the C wide front, the center steering arm is prone to break and replacements are not easy to come by.

C's had interchangeable front ends, so it's not rare. Value depends on condition. Wide front is more desireable to some people. I would say $1500-2000 -- completely up to you and the seller.

I had a C with wide front end, good metal, decent tires. Sold for $1250 with no problem.
