I have a Farmall 400 rowcrop with narrow front and a Saginaw 3 point hitch. The rear tires (13.6 x 38) measure 74" outside to outside. I am looking at two used Woods rear blades. One is 7' and the other is 8' wide. They are identical as far as angle, tilt, offset, etc. I plan to use it to maintain a 1/4 mile long gravel driveway, and other general grading jobs. Any insight as to which would work best behind a 400? Thanks in advance.

If I were buying, I would probably go with the 7 foot. 84 inches will cover your tracks if need be, depends on the angle. Saginaw is probably the best hitch made, but an angled blade, particularly set to dig in, puts one heck of a strain on a three point. Your hitch is bolted to the axles, not the rear housing as factory units are. Keep the mounting brackets as tight as you can get them, up to the limits of the bolts, whatever torque that might be.
