I was wondering if you could put a traditional 3 point hitch on a 560. I found a diesel tractor for sale but it has the two point hitch. Is there anyway to put a traditional 3-point hitch on this tractor to use with my other implements? Also how hard and expensive is it?

Thanks,

Les

Do as the others say and get a three point adaptor. If you remove the fast hitch and use an aftermarket three point, you will be bolting it to the axle housings. Thus the setup will be weaker than the fast hitch, which is bolted to the rear end housing and also underneath the tractor. As to cat 1 or 2, the pins that attach to the lower links are spaced wider and are larger than cat 1, the upper link has larger holes. Possibly the adapter will have both size holes. Category 1,2,3,4, etc get bigger and stronger as the number goes up. Cat 1 3 point implements can be used on a cat 2 hitch by using sleeves to adapt them to cat 1 pins.

During that era, all IHC rowcrop tractors were Farmalls. All IHC International tractors were; standard type, wheel type, wheatland type, utility type, or industrial tractors. I think yours is a Farmall in which case I would advise a 3 point adaptor kit.

Why not just buy the conversion kit from fasthitch to three point for $300.00.. Or make one yourself for $80.00 about .. Most three point kits are cat. 1 or 2 ...they cost about $900.00 but your fast hitch is stronger ,much stronger ....

It is a 560 tractor made in 1959. I guess it is not a Wheatland. I am confused now.

Thanks,

The row crop style 560's were Farmalls, not Internationals.

The International name was put on the Wheatland/Standard tread versions of the 560's.

Would I need a category II or a category I 3point hitch?

Thanks,

LBH
Also what is the difference?

third party image

Here is a picture of one from the Saginaw site. Work Saver also has them, their site says they have them for the 560s, so Saginaw should also.

You might contact Saginaw County Tractor, at the link below, their site shows them for up thru the 450 series, they would be the expert on this. I would think that it could be done very easily.

If it is an International (not Farmall), the fenders, floorboards, and cowling near the gas tank will have to come off. I believe the seat is different too and will need to be replaced.

You are correct, I kind of forgot about those Wheatland tractors, my apologies.

This tractor is not a Wheatland. It is a 560 looks a lot like a International 574. It doesn't have the big old fenders on it. It does have fenders but not those big ones.

Any thing else I need to know

Yes, except it is wide front end and this tractor does have small fenders. It looked like the tractor in the picture didnt have fenders at all.

Ok, well then, you can get a 3 point hitch from Worksaver, or Saginaw for it. But in most ways, I agree with the other guys about buying the adaptor kit to go from Fast Hitch, to 3 point, but since it is your tractor, you go whichever way you want to go. That is about all that I can tell you on this.
