Am ready to install the fenders on the 966, but noticed that in the original sales literature that the fenders have only one light socket. Was that because the 966 had the two lights in the grill? Was the two light fender off of the earlier 06 and 56 series or was there an option to use the two light fender on the 966. We are making progress on this old girl. I,ll try to get some pictures soon.

While we are on the subject of fenders. Although I assume you are going to use yours, any estimation of what I will need to pay to get a good solid pair of fenders for my 856. My tractor is do for a cosmetic overall next winter and my fenders show their age (experience)

Thanks

Far,

A good used set will usually run about $600.

I bought new ones which came with the U-bolt. Cost me $275 apiece and when they got here, I found that I still needed that lower bracket that the fender bolts to.

However, you should be able to re-use your old brackets and clamps.

with the necessary bodywork or start saving more hay money...

Unless you are making a show tractor, I'd use all 6 lights. Replace all the sealed beams with halogen replacements (they fit right in to the original lights). I found you can never have enough lights. Only single light fenders were used on the 66 series.

Yes Sir,

You've got the wrong fenders; the doubles went on the 06s and 56s.

Thanks Allen. Is the two hole socket the only difference in the 56 and 66 ones. I've been following your 966 progress. I was just looking through my extra original sales literature and found several 1976 black stripe brochures. Have you decided which paint scheme to use. What was the white color code used on the 1974 models. By the way,for all the help you render here on the site I would be happy to send you one of those 1976 brochures no charge if you don,t have one Get me an address or call 360 410 2677. Migraine
