Just finished working on a 460D, had the head off and had to replace a rocker arm. Got it back together and started. Dont see any oil in the lifter gallery or coming out around the rocker arms. Have I missed something important? I do have good oil pressure at the gage (and I looked and did remember to put oil in the crank case).

Now things get more complicated. I ran the tractor for a while, looks like it is oiling but not the volume I expect (I should qualify this to say I've not been in one of these before, lots of Ford and Cases, some IH truck engines but no IH tractor engines.). The rocker arm rod does appear to be wet with oil where it was not before. Tractor engine is in bad shape, very cold natured, huge cloud of white smoke. I'd say definite over haul candidate. Not sure if I want to sink that kind of money in it or not. Probably part out more than I have in it and be done.

I believe two of the rocker arm supports have oil galleys in them to allow oil to the rocker arms, We always are very careful in putting the assembly back together as it came off or the solid bottom supports won,t allow oil up. Maybe you just have 2 of the supports changed around.

Kyhayman If I remember right the head gasket can go upside down and will stop the oil. Or the pasage is pluged.
