The turbo used was off the TD9 92 series cat.IH made this kit available for farm tractors. But was not installed at the factory. Was quite expensive in the early 60s list was around 800 dollars.I still use my 560 with this kit.M&W gear co. also made a turbo kit for the 560.

Yes, the 560 Diesels could come with a turbo. However, it is not a factory option, it was a dealer installed option (But was designed by IH). It required changing the air-filter from the oil bath to a paper filter because the turbo had enough suction to pull the oil out of the oil bath and into the engine. I believe that the filter was bolted outside of the hood because it was larger than the oil bath. The kit was very rare, and I have no idea how well it worked, although I imagine that it would give it a reasonable amount of smoke. Note: they did not put this kit into the gas tractors. Hope this helps.

The air filter was mounted horizontal on the center section of the back hood (battery covers).
