Size of Tire Chains

Does anyone know how to measure tire chains to determine what size of a tire they will fit? I am guessing the chains I have would possibly fit 12 X 38 but I am unsure. Also, what is a fair price for these chains. There doesn't seem to be a very big market for tractor chains.

Dunno about the "limited" market unless you live in Texas or something... I just saw a set of 12.4x38 ladder-style go on Ebay for $150. That's an awful lot for what could be a pile of worn-out iron.

Measuring it would be tough.Might have to try it on a known size first and then figure from there.
As for value,new ladder type chains go for $150-200 new.However,ladder type chains are little good on AG type tires (the cross links sink between the paddles).Chains are a rather big market in snow country.....they are always worth something...
