Can any of you folks send descriptions and model #rs on implements that were available for the 49 super a? I'm just trying to learn more about the capabilities of this tractor and what is available for it. I would like to learn to recognize pieces I might run across in my travels. All pictures are welcome. email: jrtzrule@yahoo.com.

Thank You for the help.

SCOTT#2,WAS WONDERING AFTER READING YOUR POST WHY ARE YOU TEARING HYDRAULIC APART?
THIS IS A NO VENT SYSTEM
OR THERE IS NO WAY FOR DIRT TO GET IN?
IF PUMP GOES BAD IT LEAKS INTO MOTOR OIL
THERE IS A LONG CYLINDER SCREEN (FILTER) ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HOUSING HELD IN PLACE WITH 4 BOLTS
AND AS A REMINDER DO NOT OVER FILL,MAKE SURE YOUR PISTONS ARE BACK AS FAR AS THEY WILL GO. YOU,LL KNOW WHEN ITS FULL WHEN YOUR GARAGE FLOOR IS A OIL POND.
MINE IS BASICLY USED FOR MOWING HAS A 5FT WOODS BELLY MOWER WORKS GREAT
AND HAVE A 16" SINGLE BOTTOM PLOW AND THAT WORKS GREAT TOO

The block was leaking out of the boots on the actutors. The main shafts that move the rock shaft were ok though. Just thought I would redo the whole thing so I wouldnt have to think about it anymore.

scott: I'll start with plows; A-147 is a 2 blade disk plow, A-193 is a single bottom moldboard plow 12, 14 or 16 inch, A-189 is a two way plow available in 12, 14 or 16 inch bottom. There is also a 2 x 12" bottom plow, I should have the number as I have one, A-19x. The C-22 side mount mower was available in 5 or 6 foot cut. 144 mid mount cultivator complete with side dressing equipment and a single row planting unit. 60" blade that could be center mounted or front mounted with various kits. If I think of more, will let you know.

Thanks Hugh,

I really appreciate it and will write the numbers and descriptions in the file for future. How about disk units and cultivator units? and maby belly mowers?

Was the c22 a sickle? I think I have the 144 mid mounts and a rear setup, but what is side dressing equip? Ihave a single bottom plow that has 1 disk behind and to the left. Is this the 193?

No rush, whenever you think about it.

Thank You,

serial # is 273294. Tore the touch control block apart today and started cleaning...what a job. Im into it up to my armpits now, so I hope I get it right. As an added bonus, it even has the remote hyd. setup but on the downside it has 1/8"+ backlash in the ring and pinion. Might have to do something about that.

I heard tell of a book out there (rare to find) that lists all the implements and model #rs for the sa. Wasnt published by IH though. Sure would like to find one.

I have an original "SAI-1A McCormick Parts Catalog, Farm Implements for use with Farmall Super A Tractor". It shows all implements that attach to a Super A. I think you can still get reprints from Binder Books. Give me a shout if this the manual you are thinking about. I may be able to scan something in particular for you.

Man I sure would like to get a copy of that. I will check w/ Binder. On the off chance they dont have it, can I pay you to make me a copy, or could I borrow it from you so I could?

Thanks for the help,

Check out price at Binder Books,if you like that, then get one there. If not, send me an email and let me know where you are located and we'll see what we can do. I have ordered manuals from Binder Books before and am very pleased with quality.
By the way, I am located in eastern Ontario, Canada.
