Does anyone have an opinion (+ or -) on mufflers from Mark's Parts? I noticed he has "original style" and "chrome". At $80 and $140 do they last longer than say a generic replacement? Also do they fit better as my generic leaks out along the header pipe at the bottom and is turning my hood black - no matter how much i tighten the clamp.

Also, what are the bolt holes for on the front of a W4 casting just below the handcrank hole? Cant find a pic of one with anything mounted there.

Thanks in advance.

I have two of Mark's mufflers, the $79 ones. No problems as of yet. The main reason for these mufflers was they give the original sound and are made to original IH specifications. The tractor store mufflers I have purchased were junk, they just don't last long. One of Mark's mufflers leaked on my hood also. So, I use the tin bushing as gene suggests.

I wouldnt spend big bucks like that on a muffler.Gene suggestions on the beer can work pretty good for me as well. The hole you refer to,I have only seen this once but there was a hydrauloic pump monted there than was connected somehow to the front pulley.Used for reverse operation deals like a forklift.

Maybe you need to change the muffler inlet pipe to the correct size sure will help the leak problem. Cut a piece of a beer can for some shim stuff mite solve the problem. I replace the pipe on my Bs and dont have anyproblems with aftermarket mufflers. I use STANLEY.
