Earlier today I got into the middle of a thread and stated that there are three differnt H's in my shop with three differnt axle widths. When I got home today I looked in the manual and it only listed 2,one is 88inches and one is 100 inches.Thinking I had lost my mind,I went out and measured them. ser#79690-100 inches,ser#391586-88 inches and ser#285394-80 inches. The last one is mine, and it does not looked like it has been cut off or altered. If it has,it was done in a lathe as it even has the center hole in it.I shortened the axles on my C a couple of years ago with a band saw because someone in the past had done it with a torch and it looked like ,,bad. Anyway, maybe someone could shed some light on this. John.

I responded to your post below and indicated that one probably had a Super H axle in it. Upon reading this one, I looked in my H parts book and found that the axle changed at SN 391358. Same part number as the Super H 88" axle. That should answer your question. So you have one from probably the 1st day they changed.
