My project has taken leaps and bounds I could have never imagined. I am going to go forward and purchase the 703 Uni I was offered for 1500 bucks, and 90% certain I am going to purchase another one offered to me for 300. I have also earned my first contract, corn picking about 80 acres and combining with my 76 and Super M (you guys WILL be getting pictures of that, FOR SURE) some barley and soybeans. I have in's on one more possible, and I haven't advertised or pushed at all yet. I would like to find some land to rent too, if possible, depending on how much business shows up. I will be charging a flat per acre rate, whether I use my uni or my 2M-HD. I would love to use all three units, as I have myself, my dad, and a friend willing to run units. I will also be looking to contract more small seed combining, and see what the 76 is made of until I have the money to buy something like a 715 or the like. Thanks to all for your continuous e-mails, I'll have pictures of the 1500 dollar uni shortly when I go out to look it over. It is just amazing to think that next fall I will actually be in someone's field(s) picking corn. I'm hoping word of mouth will do much of my business, but I will be placing ads in my local co-ops and feed mills, too. The buisier I am, the happier, and if by the grace of God I get 10 phone calls to pick their corn or combine their fields, I will be serving 10 customers. I really can't wait until next October. I'm going to have butterflies in my stomach as if I was going to play in the Super Bowl. I can't wait til my first morning, up before the sun, fire up a machine while it is still covered in frost, and be able to watch the sun come up from the seat of my corn picker, whichever one I run. I really can't express on here jumping up and down and running in circles, but I have been with the news everyday of better advancements in my business. Still working on a name, (seriously considering "Pickin' and Grinnin' ") but I have a couple jacket designs to decide which I will have embroidered on my maroon Carhartt jacket. One is a Super M and 2M-HD on the back with the sun rising/setting in the back with the name of my business rolled around the top and my name and number and town on the bottom, with my name on the front right breast, or the same but with a uni on the back, a smaller Super M and 2M-HD on the front left breast with my name in the right. I about drool just fathoming about it. Thanks all for your support and interest, I owe you guys a lot to keep my mind rolling with ideas. Will keep you updated!!!!!

Better find a shed to park at nite as you dont want to run frost covered machines and you wont be picking corn with the frost on the corn. RULE# take care of the machine and it will take care of you. You need to make good checks before next days work and outside in the frost is not a good way to start.

Hi Tim, It sounds like you're getting your business setup for a busy season. Be careful around that equipment. How about a logo "You Plantum, We Pickum". Good Luck, Hal

Congratulations Tim! I think I know how you feel. In addition to my own farm, I have been doing custom work (mostly plowing and planting)for my neighbor's organic farm for the last 3 years. I use 2 M's, a Super M, and a Super W-6. I enjoy this very much and get paid for it too!

I would love to see some pic of your UNI, outside and the inside of the cab. I have never seen one in person and would like to know what these machines are all about.

Thanks

Greg Phillips

Well, I will be sure to post pictures on the forum for you when I get them. I'll have a few. I already have some pictures of a different one, maybe I can transfer them over later. Pics will be coming!!! Tim Malin
