Hand crank?

I have an H that has never been converted to electric start so the hand crank has always been used. The end that grips the crankshaft is rounded off so it will not stay engaged. Is there a way to disassemble the hand crank without removing the bolster from the tractor? Can anyone explain how it comes apart? Thanks Bob

Not sure I can answer your question. I had the one on my Super H apart because it was stuck, but I had the upper bolster off. Block the front end of your tractor up so that it will not fall. Remove the lower bolster. Then you can look underneath and see if you can get it apart. There is a pin and a snap ring you have to remove. Then theoretically you can push the rod that your crank attaches to part way forward, it will not come all the way out. Then see if you can get the rachet out -- that is the part that is worn. But, you couldn't pay me enough to get under that tractor with it blocked up.
