Which timing marks on the camshaft gear are supposed to match with the one on the governor?

Thanks!

Hi, With the camgear keyway facing to your left
the single dots are aligned with cam and crankshft gears. The double dots on the cam gear are to the governor gear. Hal

Hey, could you send me a picture of those timing marks you are talking about. I am working on a C-135 engine and can't remember how the marks all went. Thank you

That's right Hal. Remember sending me that photocopied sheet showing this. I know from experience that the double dots are for the governor. If you wanna get tricky you can add your own set of marks and really get confusing. Apparently some back yard mechanic thought that would be a good idea on mine!

You didn't say which tractor. On the H through at least the 560, there are no marks for the cam to idler to governor. On the A,B,C, etc, the single marks align the crank and camshaft gears, the double marks align the cam and governor. That said, I have not disassembled a C113/123, I currently have a C221 out of a 460 apart, so I am only sure of the C221.

I think it's the crank gear that has 2 dots and the governor that has one, in any case, line up the 2 dots with 2 dots and 1 dot with 1 dot.

The marks are as I stated, according to the IH service manual.
