JKfish:

Just have the dealer give you the standard kit for a 460/560 tractor. They are basicly the same carb.

I don't know where that number came from, unless you have a carb off some other tractor. The correct number is 367258R92. My dealer says the kits are no longer available, but you can still get the individual parts. You really need to get a parts manual--it really simplifies things, and you can make a list of the numbers before you go to the dealer.

cnks i have a 59 460 parts manual and it only shows 2 carbs. one and a quarter inch gas model with your number and a lp gas carb.wonder if the parts are interchangeable between the 2 carbs talked about here.did they go to the new nombers after my manual?? they used to go with updates as r1 r2 etc?just wondering

Rebuilder may be right about the numbers. I think the two carbs are the same, but I'm not sure. What you need to do, if the dealer does not have the kit (mine didn't), is to just order the parts that are usually in the kit. My carb works fine after I did that. You can also ask the dealer to look up the carb number for the 460. But, if IH no longer sells the carb as a unit, he will not have that number on his computer, in which case you could ask him to look in his paper copies. However, I am 99% sure that the he will have nearly all the individual parts listed in your parts book.

I intended to address my reply to JKfish, but the answer is the same.

CNKS:

Actually, I believe the number JKfish gave is correct for that tractor. I.H. gave new(tag)numbers for many of the six cyl. gas carbs but they failed to make it easy to find. At first I also thought these 388--- numbers were for other applications but after rebuilding several from salvaged tractors I started digging and found many new numbers(most from micro-fiche files). It has been almost a year since I dealt with this but I think there is actually a newer number than 388123 for the 460, but without my rebuilders log here I cannot verify that.
