Mea Culpa. Went to my carb book and see that your H probably does not have an accel pump in it. Check float level. Also check distributer advance.

If a gas engine "misses" or stalls/hesitates when you "accelerate", then smoothes out after a bit, it is the accelerator pump in the carb. This little baby sends extra fuel in there for acceleration. THEN when the engine is up to it's new required rpm it runs on the fuel through the main jet. The engine is either getting too much fuel or too litlle during this acceleration. You can tell which by the appearance of the exhaust gasses, Black, too rich, white too lean. Fix the accelerator pump accordingly.

Missing, or sputtering? If it smooths out, it's sputtering, and it's fuel related. My experience with tuning model aircraft engines would tell me "too rich on the low end."

Larry----- Start it up in the dark and see if it isn't arching off of the wires or the coil somewhere. It sounds like electrical to me.

Try turning out the main jet on the bottom of the bowl a turn or so. JON
