Farmall H needs new rubber and I am gonna give the old girl new shoes all the way around.

What size should I be usin front/rear?

Got 5.50-16's on the front now and I think 12.6-38's rear.

Was thinkin bigger but what do you all prefer and what was stock?

Wulff:
I have used 5.50-16 on the front and 12.4-38 on the rear of my H and find that that's really all the tire I need. Jeff

Hi,

My little tractor has the 6.00s in the front and the 11.2s in the back. It sets about 2" higher in the nose.

Just for what it's worth,

Allan

Allen, that certainly is a nice tractor behind all of that loader stuff. My H has 12.4 X 38 rears and 6.00 X 16 in front and I think that is all the tire an H needs. It's a NF and stands nice.

Wulff Man, 11.4x38 rears and 600x16 fronts would make a good match, and yet be relatively cost effective. Some folks try 13.9x38 and 650x16, but it is an overkill on an H. 650x16 fronts with 12.4x38 rears on a wide front will set the nose of the tractor rather high. Just my humble opinion.

Somewhat a matter of opinion, but my friend has an H with bald 13.6's on it and they look good. The tires are worn uniformly on 10 inch rims so they are not too big. I like the biggest tire a rim can take. Of course we have heavy soil so the biggest tires, full of fluid, are pretty common around here. Glenn

Not sure what Dad put my my brothers H for the front, but i put rear 12.4"s on it, they look great. I have seen H"s with 13.6"s on, they are too big i think. They look better on my M! What are you putting on? A tsc tire or brand name? Firestone, Goodyear, BFG? We put on Firestone, Coulnd"t get 45deg, so settled with 23, they look great also. Out of the prices we got fires were cheaper.

Stock was smaller, but various sizes on the rear. 12.6's look good on an H.

6.00's look a little big on the front but not as bad as 6.50's.

My 1941 price book says 5:50x16 was standard on front with 9x38 10x38 or11x38 on the rear .I assume that depends on whether you have 8 ,9, or 10 in rims
