Yah, they are interchangable, but with a few things in mind. Like others have already said, the C's gas tank has the sediment bowl farther forward to allow for the touch control, and the C's also mounts directly to the top of the touch control unit. The touch control was an option though (I have books that say so) on the C. If you are going from the C to an A, easy change, just will need a few spacers on the back support, as the C tank has the ridges that fit over the touch control out farther than the ridges on the A. If you are going from an A to a C, assuming you do not have the touch control, just make sure you have the rear tank support from the A. And, as mentioned, be prepared to lenghten the fuel line. Hope that helps. Good luck.

My C has a tank from an A or B I think. The outlet is not all the way forward, and to compensate, the fuel line is connected to the sediment bowl by using elbows.

The tank looks and works fine.

Not interchangeable, possibly backward compatible. ie: the C tank could be used on an A if you made up a new fuel line. The A tank couldn't be used on the C because the fuel outlet would interfere with the touch control assy.

The fuel outlet on the A tank is near the center of the tank, but when touch control was added to the Super A and the C, the new tanks had to move the fuel outlet forward to clear the rockshaft arms. Stan(VA).

Hi Stan,

You can achieve clearance by using street elbows at the tank, before the sediment bowl. This allows clearance for the rocker arms.
