I just push them out too. Using a small screwdriver. Push each pin a little at a time as to not break it off. Don't worry if one breaks, they can still be reattached with two-sided tape.

Clips or nuts are on the inside of the hood, you need to remove it to paint it separately anyway.

I'm not being sarcastic -- very carefully, I just pry them off.

the pins on the emblem are "pressed" into the little clip holder thingy in the tin ..... .just tap the pins on the back side lightly with a hammer - then you can gently pry the emblem off from the front .....once you get the "hang" of it , you can remove all the chrome in a few minutes ,,,,, ,to put the chrome back on , just push the pins (emblems) back into the clips with your thumb- maybe hold a rag over the pin area of the emblen & tap with a hammer on the stborn ones .....i prefere JB weld instead of 2 sided tape on the broken studs or holes with missing clips , it'l stick better/ last longer than 2 sided tape
