Clipper has been around for nearly 130 yearsthe comapant began in 1869 in Ohio when capt. John Smith crafted in wood the first operated Clipper Cleaner using the vertical air blast principal.In 1891,the business was sold to AT Ferrell and moved to Saginaw Mich.by 1948,the AT ferrell Comapny had the largest base comapny of air screen and grain cleaners in the world having sold nearly 20000 of the reliable wooden machines in all different sizes and capacities for many types of applications.The current comapny is a division of Bluffton Agri/Industrial Corporation in Buffton Indiana.

With more investigation I have discovered that a serial/model number was assigned to each one and is in the front metal piece of the blower housing,most have long since faded but I found fine quite by accident.I forgot to cover it up one evening and it rained on it.the next morning I had gone out to cover it up and was able to 22B on the sheetmetal.Ferrel began usding the numbers almost immediately upon taking over Clipper begining with 1 on each model built.Thats was in late 1891.When a new model appeared,such as a bigger unit or higher capacity unit,each previous model was redisignated with a letter.The previous 1 would become 1A,although previously sold unit would never get the letter on the machione itself unless it was added by the owner.I know of 7 differnet sizes and 4 different capacities of the 7 sizes.I have 22B,27B,and 13D.22 and 27B are identical ecept for a few things replaced with modern items on 22B.13D is bigger than the other two but has the same basic design.
