Its a shame Pertronix doesnt offer a 12V negative ground Ignitor for IH tractors(6V/12V Pos only).Would be nice to get rid of the points forever.

Paul: Call John Brillman (look in Red Power Mag)and he will sell you just what you need and reasonable.I have four(4) IH tractors(one is a 300U) and the all have Pertronix Electronic systems on them. Also I used a Hitachi alternator (on the 300U) and used the same belt that was for the gen.Hope this helps.E-mail if you need more help. Marvin

If you click on tractor parts above, select IH, then M, and then electrical components will show a 12 volt Pertronix ignition, first part says positive ground, if you read on it says if you have negative ground to order a different number.

PAULIH300..I have a 300U, 300F and a 100F that all run electronic ignition 12 volt Neg ground. So far the only thing I haven't found is a unit for the IH gas start diesels.

Yes,the electronic ignition/contact points eliminator. All information I have read (even Pertronix's website) shows only Positive ground for IH distributors (4 cyl) in 6 and 12 volt versions. For those upgrading to 12V neg ground 1-wire alternators, that sort of leaves them no choice but points.
