I have a widefront H that has mucho play in the steering (1/2)turn almost). I have installed a decent gear on the vertical spindle that the worm drives. However the vertical spindle has about 3/8 inch vertical play. How do you take this out???

As a kid, I thought that was "power steering"

Most likely the thrust bearing has worn out.

Here's a picture of where the lower thrust bearing and spacer is located on the H.

Thanks so much for the help. I hope to get it apart and replace the bearing. Are the wide fronts hard to keep repaired. I noticed mine has some welds on the connecting links.
Thanks again
