My belly mounted mower will not stay up. Dealer says the check valve may have a broken spring. Is this easy to get to? Removal of the pump necessary? Any info would be appreciated.

It's actually a cycle mower. {Don't think I spelled that right. } It's a Kosch brand. I believe they're made or at least were made in Columbus,NE by Kosch Manufacturing.

What about your oil level,is it ok? Simple checks before tearing into something can save yopu alot of work.

Might try this first. When I first got my super H {early with belly pump} The hydraulics would not hold eiter. But i did notice that they would hold if I held the handle for the lift about a 1/2 inch from the stop where it would normally hold, it would in fact hold there. S i walked out to my 44 H and noticed the support for the control rod was at a slightly different angle. Then I got out my trusty 18 inch pipe wrench and bent the support to where the cylinders woould remain in the position I left them and the pump not be in stroke. Been working fine for more than a year now.
