Reading thru 300U literature,I see they even offered half-tracks as an option.Now there's something I bet is very rare!

my SM had half tracks, grandpa quit using them once he traded the 450 on a 786. Not sure where they are at I think the guy we had come in to haul off some scrap a few years back may have taken them though he was told not to.

I beleive they are the same units availible for most tractors in the 50's. The mounting bracket at the axle and the number of track pads were the only difference. I bought a ferguson 20-85 with 1/2 tracks. It was used for hauling 8" pulp wood in Hornpayne Ontario in the fifties, then hauling fuel to fly-in lodges. I have seen the same tracks on Farmalls. Real noisy in the summer, but just great for cutting fuel wood in the snow.

These were Arps half tracks sold thru IHC.
