Am I missing something?? Listings for steering wheels for 300 series shows a hub with a keyway.My 300U has a splined hub.Wrong wheel...wont fit!

The splined hub steering wheel is quite hard to come up with. I have had 2 NOS ones in the past 10 years, and they didn't last long. if the splines are still in serviceable shape, and nothing is bent, I would suggest having the wheel recovered by minn-kota..

justin, is the 300 splined wheel different form the one for the 350, if not OEM Tractor Parts has it.

The later model wheels are all plastic covered and look different (they use a hubcap too).I'll either have to go the later route or I will have to do major surgery and transplant the old hub to the new spokes.

I have never seen one in person, but apparantly the early 300's had the same wheel as the H, etc, that is metal spokes. I don't know if the one for the 300 differed from the 300U, though. The 330, 350, etc had plastic spokes and a large hub with an emblem. If your old one was like the one for the 350 it is pn 366557R1. Simply send it back and exchange it. It always helps to have a parts manual before you start working on something. Manuals are pretty much indispensable for most of us.
