Punch below for a few images of my SH and SM "at work" the past several weekends at a friend's choose 'n cut Christmas tree farm . Joining the Supers are several buddy's Deere and Minnie Mo tractors, also my trusty old MM UTU.

Happy Holidays!

Bob: Great bunch of photos as usual. While I agree the scene was much better in the snow last year, I have had experience with Christmas Trees. To all those people with any doubt, snow is best left out of the picture until the tree is decorated. We will send that snow along. So far our snows have been coming with north east winds. Just as soon as those guys over in Michigan catch onto those prarrie clippers, they will blow it clear across Lake Huron, SW Ontario, Niagara Falls, New York State and all the way to the Appalachians. We are getting it here again this morning, but again with a nor-easter. Merry Christmas.

Bob, That Super M looks real good, but I think I liked last years shot with the snow better than this years mud!

Another great set of pics Bob! I know what you mean about doing this with snow on the ground. It looked like the mud was bad enough without the snow on top of it. Great work! Thanks.

Isn't it great to see the smiling faces of happy tractor drivers that have a machine that will start and charge correctly!!!

What is that think in the background that looks like a giant slide?

Indeed Brian - a "giant slide" is exactly what you see in the background!

In addition to Christmas trees we also run a pumpkin patch operation on weekends in October. One of the attractions we offer is a ride down the "hay chute".

Punch the link below, then punch the STRAW FORT button (left side of the screen) to see the chute in operation. For safety we keep the chute closed when we're doing Christmas trees...

Robert,
Always enjoy your pictures! Looks like you have a great community!

Question: The picture where the fellow is standing in front of the rear tire while starting a John Deere, is he having to do something special to get the tractor started? Looks like a good way to get smushed by 5000 pounds of tractor.

Thanks Bill!

Regarding guy starting the tractor (who incidentally is one of my kids...) that's SOP the for the A and AR. Neither is equipped with electrics. Consequently they must be hand-crank started by wrestling the flywheel.

Actually it looks a lot more dangerous than it really is. The flywheel is difficult enough to turn with the tractor outta gear. When the clutch is engaged it's nearly impossible. Also the tractor will move as you begin rotate if it's in gear, providing additional warning to pull the clutch lever first.

BTW performing cold start via that method gives a guy a whole new appreciation for the value of the electric starter!

Thanks Eric!

But you can keep the snow... Last year we struggled through a couple weekends with over a foot of accumulation. Very picturesque, but a PITA to work in!
