After cleaning eng. on 1946 A, she would'nt start. Iam getting spark out of the top of the magneto into the cap. No spark beyond that point. I've cleaned the points, new cap and rotor. Question is why no spark. Could it be a condensor? I checked the manual and do not see one. This magneto system is new to me . Any help would be appreciated.

Yup Not the condenser, Cap, rotor, or wires. Make sure if you pulled the rotor gear you timed it right when you put it back. JON

Mag Man, The only thing I did was take off the cap and rotor to check the points. Is their a certain way I should have put the rotor back on?

Nope your fine .If you take the little cover off that holds the rotor gear. The rotor gear is the thing that the rotor sits on. If you take that gear out of the mag And alot of people do It needs to be timed when you put it back. But it sound like you are ok. JON

From the top of the magneto, the condenser and all the other parts have done their thing so only the rotor, cap, and wires are left. You did not mention new wires. there is a condenser. It installs from the back (engine side), but the kill screw goes into it from the visible side.
