Paul: I'd have to go with CNKS and REDRIDER, don't think its possible to get 300U under 4,000 lbs. I never had a 300U but I know it doesn't take a lot more than calcium chloride and one set of weights to put a Farmall 300 over the 6,000 lb mark. On shipping weight I rather doubt the Farmall weight is a 1,000 lbs more.

4300lbs must be stripped. I have a 1956 300U and it tips the scales at 4900lbs. Our 300 has 6 inch front rims with 6.50 X 16s on the front, 16.9 X 24s on the rear, 2 point, TA, Live PTO, 3 Valve hydratouch and power steering. So you see a 4300lb 300U must be just the basic tractor.

That's only a guess, as I don't have any accurate data -- easy to get 5000 lbs. I didn't know the 300U came with 24 inch rears, most had 28's.

Probably closer to 4300 lbs, Guy Fay's data book has a typo in it for the 300U. The 330U, which is a 300/350 with a smaller engine weighs about 4200.

Are you using some of the info you had when you were a dealer? If so your data is better than mine. Ken Updike's data book says 4800 for the 300U and 4000 for the 330U.
