I'm not very familiar with the C and Super C models and need some clarification of their features. Was the IH fast hitch available on the C or just the Super C? Was it a standard feature of the Super C or an option? Is it common or very uncommon to find a fast hitch on one of these tractors today? If the fast hitch was just available on the Super C what were some of their other features not available on the C other then the larger engine? Thanks for your comments to this post.

The F/H did come out on the '53 Super C's, but it was also on a few late '52 S/C's. I have a late '52 with it. Fast hitch was an extra cost option but it seems most of them have it. S/C's also have disk brakes, pedals are shaped different than a C. S/C has a water pump also.

Yes, I think 1953 also. One time I won a May, 1953 California Farmer paper on Ebay...inside was a huge flyer list of the fast-hitch news announcement with all the options and available eq. What an ad, and in color, it was ! It is so neat ! And, I think this was the intro about the famed IH fast-hitch, about to come to the bigger tractors too. I think the Super C was the first though.

Introduced on the Super C (I think in '53?), always as an option, more common on the later units. It can be mounted on a C. It's also compatible with the 200 fast hitch, but the hitch was redesigned for the 230/240 tractors and those do not interchange. Plenty of previous posts on C/Super C differences.
