Just bought a 1066 a few weeks ago. It is missing some of the 3pt parts, but I would like to make it useable again. It wont go up and down like it should with the lever. If you put the lever in the down position, turn the tractor off the lift arms will go down. After starting the tractor they will stay down, and then go up after pulling the lever to the up position. After that they wont go back down until they settle after the tractor being off. Anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.
Brad

That is not a real big problem the lever from the torshion bar jumped off and can be fixed with out to much troubel take the top link plate off and look in to the right side of the housing and you will see a lever comming up from the bottom and then look for the lever or arm that is in front of it , it is spring loaded and will a bit of pullen to move it back use a pice of baler twine or a ladys foot bar ( it will save your fingers ) take a small pry bar and pry the arm comming up to the left just enough to get the top arm past and on the back side of the bottom one . There may be excess wear on the top arm or it may be bent a bit and it will take a littel bit of bending not not much as it WILL BREAK . IF it is real loose i have taken and welded a body washer on the frame side of the lever comming up so it will not hop off anymore.

Brad,

Those are some really 'wacko' symptoms you have going on there. :>)

I gotta agree with DPH; sounds like you have some linkage that has come loose in on that draft sensing business. Darned rock shaft doesn't know where it is supposed to be.

Having the same problem with our 3588. I posted on the redpower site and got a lot of responses yesterday. www.redpowermagazine.com Pull the top link anchor off the back of the rear end and check the linkages going down to the torsion bar below the PTO. The lever coming up from the bottom, called the sensing arm, should be in front of the linkage coming down from the top. There is also a set screw on the sensing arm that could have come loose. See if the lock nut is tight. Also pull the access plate of that is located just inside of the hitch quadrant at the seat. Make sure the linkage pins are still there connecting the hitch and draft control levers to the linkages.
