Hello. I am getting ready to rebuild the engine on my F-12. It is an early serial number (4 digits 1934 Model). My question is what should the part number be on the crankshaft and the diameter of the crank be. I am told that the early bearings are not longer available. So I might have to change the crank if it already hasn't been done. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!

you'll need to cut a new notch for the rod bearings. It's not that hard to do.

i have an early 12 engine also. 34, gas, with dipstick. think the rod #s started with 29. was told ih gave new cranks and rods to update in 1937. new rod #s started with 30 or 31. if you wish to keep the same rods and crank, get them miked, then you can try a guy named tom underwood, in kansas. he might have nos bearings for the crank and rods. pg

Hi Stevie, You need a micrometer to see what that shaft measure's now. It could be worn. I would take it to a reputable machine shop and have them measure (mike) it. Then you will know
if you need to machine the shaft undersize or if it is still within specs. Hal
