Mike: Did this Ontario weather forget where No 7 highway is located. Just out with 130 plowing this damn snow away. 130 seems as willing as it ever did, but this old flesh just don't cut it anymore.

I supose I shouldn't be so harsh on you, that old wind this morning is coming right out of Saginaw MI, Paul get a handle on that.

Hi Hugh. Our milk truck driver just did a run to Newfieland. Had a fun time. Coming across from Deer Lake to the ferry, He got hit by 120KM winds. Driver in lead truck said to follow him at all costs. They hung there front tires over the left shoulder, all the way to the ferry. Our guy said his trailer swung out around him three times! Oncoming traffic just pulled out and around them. Lead driver said they do that all the time,no big deal!

Kent: Leave it to a Newfoundlander, they have been finding a way to do it for years, whether it 120K winds or 85 foot seas.

Another spot I always dreaded was that lovable Tantramar Marsh in a good snow storm. Remember that sunken garden at the old NS - NB border crossing. On the eventful trip to the second ever Farm Mech show in Moncton, I'm guessing 1977. I stopped with front wheels of my 74 Olds on the edge of that garden. Couldn't see, so decided I best stop. By the way, never did get to Moncton that day, hill in Gaytons had so many cars and trucks crossways, we decided to go home. We came back next day well equiped, 72 Chevy 3/4 with barrel of concrete in back. (counter weight from loader tractor)

That NB - PEI bridge has its down side also. I crossed that one night in heavy winds, no precip, I was driving Super B train aluminum chip trailers. I was keeping tractor about 3' off center line. In rear view mirror, back trailer was on center line. Got to other side and truck inspection guys called me in, asked what it was like on bridge. I told him what I was seeing. He said, " We were monitoring your speed from the beginning and noticed you were backing off the 80Km limit, when trucks start that its bad." He declared bridge is officially closed to empty trucks. Don't need one of those rigs on its side on the bridge.

I do tend to needle Mike and Paul over in MI about there Lake Huron wind. Folks around here get quite excited about their lake effect. I tell them those lakes are just puddles. How would you like Atlantic effect?

Hugh, I grew up outside of Port Huron, and I know how fickle the weather can be on the Michigan side. I must say that I did not like being up west of Owen Sound on a stormy nite in winter picking up cattle either! Now that we are in the Maritimes, it seems like the LORD has decided to step up the severity of the storms! Hopefully it won't feel so bad in my new to me 8160 Ford New Holland snowblowing machine.

Kent: There you go, me making fun of Michigan-Ontario weather and you all turn out being native sons.

So what part of NB do you call home now. Sounded like maybe your in the dairy business. My e mail is exposed, and I like hearing about dairy farms. Not that I want back, just like to know how the industry is doing.

Hugh, I got the pick up stuck, actually buried in the lane back to the back of the farm. I had to pull it backwards all the way back to the shed...it didn't look like that much snow but it was enough that I could hardly open the truck door once I had buried it. Its snowing pretty good in Exeter right now..don't freeze your ears!...Mike

Mike: I know what your saying, had all plowed this am, now I've got to plow again. Ground not frozen yet so quite easy to make a mess. I had quite a pile of snow in front of blade once, wasn't flowing across blade so decided to push it off driveway. Did a bit of sod harvest.

Tony got the idea this am, I should take Mack and bob tail to Aylmer to pick up a trailer we had in for repair. I looked at MTO road report, all roads from Watford to Aylmer were bare to snow covered, including the 402. Now I don't like bob tailing even on bare roads. I told him since we only had about 30 hours per week to do right now, I best stick right by fire side and converse all my good friends at YT. That seems a lot more sensible when your closing in on 63 years.
