I have a 1941 M that I brought from Montana. It has a "KATS" aftermarket engine heater. It is manufactured by five star manufacturing. It is mounted on the side, with a hose running from the water jacket to the heater, and from the heater to the head. Does this type of heater circulate the water through the engine?

Warm water, like hot air, rises. So it circulates through the system.

You have one of the better units made, yes, it circulates through the engine.
