300U Captive Nuts

On the 300s hoods,there are captive square nuts that the bolts thread into.These remind me of the ones Ariens used on Sno Thros where the blower attachment bolted onto the "tractor" assembly.Anyone know where these are available?

Fastenal is another supplier that you can try and they may give you a better price than McMaster Carr. You wouldn't believe what these guys have and they have local shops. Check your yellow pages.

If yours are fine thread, good luck. I have been searching for about a year. If they are or you can settle for 5/16-18 thd then you can get them at most larger hardware stores or mail order places like McMaster Carr, Grainger, or Fastenall. They can also be had from OEM tractor parts. Not the cheapest place to get them though. They are called "cage nuts". Measure your panel thickness that it goes into. There are different ones available.
