Has anyone bought a manual on CD for your computer? Saw them on Ebay and wanted to get one for my dad for Christmas. Just didn't know how well it would work and if all the info is on there. Thanks for any info and have a nice day.

If you are looking for manuals for only one tractor, then I'd buy the original manuals, or reprints. If you have several tractors, the CD that shows all the parts catalogs for IH tractors (get it from Case/IH) may be a good way to go.

Chris - I bought a combined (parts and owner manual CD) for a Farmall Super C and have been very happy with it. With a CD it seems you have the best of both worlds. You can print the entire manual. Or just print the pages you are interested in while you're working on your tractor. If the pages get greasy just toss them out and print new pages. You can also print diagrams and take them with you to the parts store.

You can also do a search that will find every reference within the manuals to any item you search for such as "transmission" in less than 2 seconds.

Good luck!

I seen the same ad on Ebay and I think its a great idea, Ive got the CD parts manuals for all the JD 2 cyl tractors and its great to print out what you need then discard. If you like the whole book print out all the pages and put in a binder.

Just an opinion....I like to have the manual in my hand. If it were on a CD I'd just print it out. So for me, I'd buy the actual manual from Binder Books.
Happy Holidays!
