I posted a while back asking for help on my F-30"s idle problem. Had the carb off cleaned recleaned tryed other carb parts different float settings. Had different magnetos on tractor all acted the same. New plugs, plugs from good running F-12 one that starts and idles even!
Checked for vacuam leaks, tryed different valve settings, moved ignition timing. Different plug wires. Well finally a light went on! I have been using suppresion plug wires on that tractor. Put the copper wires from the F-12 on it and now it idles way down and almost smooth. That idle adjustment now effects the idle quality and my shop doesn"t smell gassy when it runs. So now I know that magnetos need copper wires. I tested for spark with other wires and it always looked to have spark but with copper the spark is blue and very sharp. Thanks for the great information you all give on this forum. Just thought I would share what I found. Bobcat
