I have been having trouble finding the timing marks for the counter rotating balancer on my 674 (see post yesterday) I finally took the gears to to my local case dealership the 73 year old parts guy there located the marks in about 4 seconds I have 20/20 vision and was looking for centre punch marks he found faint matching electrode indented marks, and then told me he had sold a super C to my uncle 50 years ago here in Whakatane New Zealand. THeres more to this story but dont want to bore you.

ok the story is I had got the wrong fuel filters so I swapped them for som cav filters probably $60.00 cheaper, but he never offered a refund and I felt i had got some good info and was happy.
He also showed me a Kevlar clutch for front end loader work that is suppose to last a lot longer

I went to another shop like Your guys Napa to get a thrust bearing for the clutch as it was $40.00 cheaper than at the International dealership. The people there asked me for a credit app and made me pay cash for the part, yer like I carry cash so gave them a credit card. I told them I was angry as our family has been farming here 110 years, and the $8.00 an hour attendants acted superior I doubt if i will go back there rather pay more at the Case IH dealership for the service.

A dealership provoides an important service many of us are not prepared to acknowledge and by buying cheaper parts from non dealerships we are really screwing ourselves in the end

Ian, are you on the North Island? An old college friend was from Rotorua (spelling?) on a sheep farm/station. Always wanted to get to NZ. Gorgeous place, great people! Someday...

Hi Ian,

That burns me to... My family moved to this country in 1948, I was something like 4 or 5 years old at the time.

I go into a store to buy something and some 25-year-old kid wants me to show "proof of identity". UGRMH!

The old world is a changin’

Allan
