Thanks for your comments on my 300, it'll be a while, if ever, till I can have her looking as nice as your puller.

I got her out of the shop and power washed many years worth of grease and debris off tonight, took advantage of nice above freezing temps tonight. Drove her up and down the lane a couple of times and noticed that the steering although generally loose seems to have a tight spot, I'm guessing it hasn't ever been looked at, how tough is it to find a power unit for one of these 300's?

Also the recommended setting for the needle jet is 5 turns out, but it seems to run good (no Load) at about 2- 1/2 turns out. other than that it starts real good and idles like a kitten.

I notice that all the pictures show an upright exhaust, mine is turned down, and there is no hole in the sheet metal for the upright pipe. and the hood sides are attached with piano hinges, this I'm guessing is not original.

thanks for your help, I'll have more questions as I start unbolting stuff.

B Watson, Thanks for the compliment. The Power Steering units off 300,350 or 460 are all the same. As for the Vertical exhaust, that was an option for the Utility tractors. The Farmall 300/350 Vertical exhaust manifold will fit and was the same one that the Utility used. I have been through our 300U from stem to stern so If you run into any problems or have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
