Just an update on my cub carb issues.

I have a 66 IH cub, but the oem IH carb was changed out to a cub 184/185 zenith carb.

A search of many sites yeilded no info. I tried carquest.. to no avail.. and then napa.. napa was able to look it up via application, and came u[p with an echlin kit 2-1565
That kit is a 'fit all' for 61, 62, 67, 68, 161, 267, 63, 63m, and 263m series zenith carbs.

A look in my manual identifies my carb as a 68YY7, though strangely enough, napa couldn't cross that carb number over to the kit.. that obviously includes the '68' series.. but instead looked it up via application.. either way I'm happy..

I'll let you know how the quality is.. Though.. as an echlin kit.. I'm hoping for better than tisco..

Yikes.. that's quite a price difference.... almost You sure that isn't 28$(CDN) (grin)

For 18 bucks this seems like a great value. It comes with about 5 different 'halves' gaskets to meet all those series needs.. while it looks like the jet and needles are all the same., and only has one each.

I think I'm going to scan a template of the carb half gasket, so if I need another, I can just drop it onto some correct thickness gasket paper, as the brass parts should be durable but the gasket will probably die every time I pop it open.. etc.

Hi Sound, That's a good idea to scan that carb
gasket in case you need to make. I make gaskets
from vellomoid gasket material, you can get different thickness material. My NAPA store said they had one of those carb. kit's on the shelf.
We had a NAPA store here in town for years, but it closed this year, never said why. The store I called is 12 miles away. Ever here of Aberdeen Proving Ground? Hal

18$ and some change here in central florida.

( I can already tell that the paper gasket in the kit for this zenith looks better than the cork composition gasket I've seen in the TSC kit for the IH make carb. )
