I'm looking for a loader for my 340 Utility. Can anyone tell me the difference between a 1701 and 2001 IH loader, and if one or the other would be preferable for my tractor?

The 2001 loader was designed for the row crop models and would mount right up to a 340 Farmall (Row Crop). The 2000 model is the same basic loader, just a shorter subframe and is/was designed for the 340, 404, 504, 606 International (Utility) tractor. Would be perfect fit for a 340U...if you have the correct mounting brackets. Next generation was the 2050 to fit the 424 and 444 series. The next generation after that was the 2050A to fit the 454, 464, 574.

Jeff,
Found a 2050 loader a few hundred miles away. I can't find much info as to whether it would fit my 464, but from your statement on your email. The 2050a was made for the 464 and their are differences in mounting the 2050 vs 2050a. This 2050 I am interested in was removed from a 656 model tractor and bolts on the front and rear axle. Not bolting in the middle of the tractor like the 1850 loader my neighbor has.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Donnie

I'm almost 100% positive that the 2001 loader is way too big for that tractor to handle.
