I've always wanted to put some nice big tires on my 1066. It currently has 18.4x34's. I know where I can get rims and tires from a JD 8430 4x4, I belive they are 23.1X34 tires. Those rims sure look like they would fit the IH wheel center. The "bead" around the inside of the rim to which the wheel clamps to looks to be the same size. Has anyone tried this before? Any reason why it might not work?

A lot of original rims from M's and H's are stamped "Firestone" on the tube side.

Firestone owned Electric Wheel at the time M's & H's were built. Fact EWC was still a Firestone division up into the 80's. IH had a "Special" 20" X 34" rim with eight riveted mallable iron lugs riveted into the inside of the rim, these bolted to the cast wheel center, but a 20 X 34 double bevel rim should clamp up just just fine as the 16 X 34" rim did. Make sure You paint those yellow rims..... They look bad on a pretty red/white tractor
