Is rebuilding a govenor on a B model that difficult for someone very mechanically inclined? Is there anything such as specs of any kind that I would need to know? Should I just buy an assembly manual? Thanks for any help.

I just rebuilt the one on an A which would be the same as your B. If you remove the distributor drive you will be able to see marks on the back side of the cam & governor drive gears. Send me an e-mail if you need assistance.

Most important thing is when you remove the gov assy with the engine all asembled you realy dont have a good way to reinstall it and have it in correct time with the cam unless you are careful when removing so you can put it back with the same teeth meshing or you will not get it to fire and start. With the engine removed and front cover off you will be able to get the timing marks in correct order. It can be removed but you better make some marks someplace to get the gov wts assy back with the right teeth in registration.

Maybe I don't have to rebuild, my problem is with the throttle at idle, I increase throttle position by about 25% with no response from the engine, it does respond at about 25% to full throttle with increase engine speed. When at full throttle I can manually pull the linkage to the carb and it still has more room for increase, so this tells me I need to adjust something but dont know what, usually when i get somthing like this I just take it apart to better understand it and then do the adjustments and rebuild it while i'm learning th part, in this case if it's better to adjust something then I will do that, what would I need to adjust?

If you half as knowledgeble about mechanics as paint, you will have no problem -- Go to Binder Books and get an operator's, parts, and service manuals and you are halfway home.
