Is the starting rod on a Farmall A supposed to be attached to the right side of the pedestal, on the other end of the bolt that holds the throttle lever/quadrant?

And how big of a job is it to replace the grease seal between the transfer case and the right side of the transmission?

And last, where can I get a kit that will replace the magneto? I need every part from the governer to the spark plugs.

I'm going to try a rebuild of the mag first. But if that doesn't work, I'll put up another post.

Thanks guys!

In most areas of the country you will find a local magneto shop which can do a great job of repairing a magneto.

I far prefer them to a distributor.

The starter rod is about 12in long and mounts to the gas tank with a small bracket and is foot operated i have some. The seal on the trans case replacement is quite a little project but i do this all the time so it is easy for me as the seat and platform need to be removed and remove the clutch and left brake pedals by taking out the bolts so the platform can be removed. Do you want a mag to keep it original? send e-mail bfarmall @netins.net
