Tired A/ Power unit swap?

The block in my "A" is not dependable. A crack near sleeve seal is leakin' coolant into oil. I've found a good power unit that looks a lot like my engine 'cept it has a dipstick as well as the spigots on oilpan. My "A" ser.# is FAA143988 the ser.# on unit is UAAM15926G. Question: Is this a reasonable/possible swap?? The power unit has a 4spd. trans. on it. It's on an "Erickson" forklift (1941?) Thanks for any help. Dan.

My guess it will work fine.

You may find you have extra holes and might even have to drill one to match the old block.

I would not hesitate to tackle it.

Thank you Mr. Martin. In doing a little further checking around, this may be a better choice as far as "power-units" go, because some of these units that do not utilize a transmission, do not have a pilot hole in the end of the crankshaft. I'm glad that I'm not in a hurry to find a better block.

Thanks again. Dan.
