What kind of rebuilt kit would you like as that block could use even a 3.250 bore and hi-dome piston giving you a final cubic inch of 135. The hp would end up being around 25 or so. Send an e-mail if you need more info.

I'll list several links to older threads on this list that may be educational along these lines, copy and paste them into the URL addr window on your browser (they are each two lines in this window but need to be put back together as one line when you paste them):

The bore (of the pistons) in your existing motor could be any of 3", 3-1/8" or 3-1/4" depending on whether it is still stock or which sleeve kit was used in a previous overhaul. The most commonly available aftermarket piston and sleeve kit today will be the 3-1/4 overbore kit. If you are willing to pay dealer prices, the options may go up.

The Sleeve OD (Outside Diameter) that I referred to is measured across the outside of the bottom of the sleeve about and inch or two up from the bottom where the rubber O-ring actually makes it's seal. I believe it will be 3-7/16" (~3.44")vs 3-5/16" (~3.31") of the earlier (and later X30/X40) blocks.
Hope some of that helps,
Stan(VA).

Hi Cajunace,

The engine to your Farmall Super AV is a C-113. It is the same as the Farmall A, Farmall B, Farmall C, Farmall AV, Farmall Super A, International A. Your engine has 113 cubic inches.
Now if all you have is some scratches, can't you hone them out? Do you have broken rings? I guess I don't understand all this. Did you pull the engine apart because it didn't have any power, or because there was noise from the engine? If the scouring is nothing more than scratches let it go, but if you have deep gouges from broken rings then you may want to replace the sleeves. If you look in the forum under engines you should be able to find your engine. I hope this helps.

Bob

yes the sleeves are pretty bad off. the tractor had bad blow-by, poor power, water mixed in the oil when i opened the drain plug, plus most of the water ports were cloged from years of using straight water.i guess it was ment for me to take it apart.

REA: To start with his engine is not the same as Farmnall A and B or Super a prior to serial number 310,000. His engine block part number will be necessary to get the proper piston and sleeve set. that number is very likely 354898 R1. These are the C-123 block with thicker sleeves giving 113 cubic inches.

Cajunace,
Hugh has hit it. Pull a sleeve and measure the OD at the O-ring. It should be 3-7/16 (vs 3-5/16). If so, tell them you need to order a sleeve kit for a Super C, you shouldn't have any trouble getting it.

ok thanx. but is there a reason that this tractor would have a different engine than other superA's or AV's, or maybe the orginal one was replaced?

cajunace: All Super A after serial number 310000 have block part number 354898 R1 as I indicated. This change came at about with the introduction of the C-123 engine used in the Super C At serial number 356001 all Super A were changed to C-123 engine as well. As Stan said your tractor may have already been changed to 123 cu in. You can easily make it either, two piston and sleeve sets. One for C-113 and other for C-123.
