Theres been a Super c at my (almost) local dealership for about a year. Its not in too bad a shape. It has good rubber, fair tin, no paint, no fast hitch, and a mid-mount blade. I think they want 3500 for the tractor, and i think that is way expensive. My questions are, whats a decent ballpark figure for this tractor, and is the mid mount blade somewhat rare?

I've seen the super c's in the classifieds for 12 or 1400, but i dont know whether they sell for that or not.

Thanks!

That price sounds a little high since it doesn't have the fasthitch. Now would be the time to offer them a low price since winter is upon us.
They may not want to keep it until spring.

I bought a Super C for $700.00 with new tires and I was the only person that responded to the ad.
It had a flat tire on the front and had been run in a gravel pit. I removed the tire and rim after I had purchased it and I had to install a new tube since the inner tube leaked like a sieve.
I then drove it 12 or 14 miles home. I had to replace the steering u-joints since it had a lot
slop in the steering and 2 hydraulic hoses.

I plowed the garden and then sold it for $2100. I wish now that I'd kept it. I received
a lot of phone calls even after I sold it.

You don't see many Super C's for sale, most are H's and M's. Hal

I bought a '52 Super C with Fast Hitch in New York state last fall for about $1800; needed pistons/sleeves, front tires and paint. $2500 seems to be a common asking price for a painted/rebuilt one, and they don't always sell for that. I've never seen one with FH for less than $1500.
Good luck,
Bill

Sometimes dealers have their price and dont care when they sell. Then sooner or later a buyer will come along and its gone wont be the first time this has happened.

Grant, Paul would know about prices because has a C and Super C I believe, but I know that the midmount blade can go for a few bucks. I have seen them sell for $500 no problem! But $3500 sounds awfull high, at least $1500 too high in my opinion. Make an offer and see what happens.

If it has been on the lot that long, then they know it is overpriced. If they will let you start it and test drive it to make sure there are no major problems, offer them $1500 cash as is/where is. You might have to come up a bit, but I would be surprised if they want it to set there till spring.
Good luck!

The blade is somewhat rare. I bought one for $250 and have been offered much more than that for it. But that is way high for the tractor without a fasthitch unless it is in primo condition. I think 1500 to $1800 should buy it if it's been setting that long on his lot.
