My father and I bought a case 970. Everytime you hit the left brake, it like sticks or locks up and requires putting it in reverse to back up a little and then it releases. Brakes to set to tight? Thanks Mike

My past experience and memory says that maybe the brake is not adjusted tight enough. When you step on the brake, the assembly tries to wrap around the anchor point and gets bound-up. Reverse allows the assembly to unwrap and release. Hope this helps.

Mike,

Don't know anything about your Case, but if it uses dry brakes, sounds like you have one that's oil-soaked.

I believe the brakes are wet but not sure. We only have had this tractor for a month now. Thanks Mike

Have you posted your question on the Case board?
